Mrs. Lovely Reckley Kindergarten 3 - Grade 6 Students

Agape students spread the joy of Christmas by donating to lunch programme.

The gift of giving was not lost on Agape’s primary students, who decided that instead of exchanging gifts with each other as in previous years, they would give to those less fortunate in the community.

Before their Christmas parties got underway on December 15, students from K3 through Grade six assembled in the courtyard and presented Mrs. Lovely Reckley with a Maxwell's food voucher in the amount of $810 to go towards her lunch programme.

Mrs. Reckley supplies children who attend Central Abaco Primary, Abaco Central High, and Every Child Counts with a hot lunch daily during the school year. With tears in her eyes, she expressed gratitude towards the excited students.

“I feed about 70 students a day and that number is going to increase because there are many that don’t have lunch everyday,” Mrs. Reckley said. “On behalf of those little voices, I say thank you, thank you, thank you and God bless you,” she said.

Principal Cecile M. Albury expressed her admiration for the teachers and students who took it upon themselves to make this happen. “See how one person, Mrs. Reckley, saw a need and decided to do something about it.  Now you are helping her.  Look inside yourself for something you might be able to make a difference by doing,” said Mrs. Albury. “Remember, Jesus is the reason we celebrate the season.”

The assembly was capably run by Mrs. Farrah Cartwright, sixth grade teacher and administrative assistant G4-G6. She was happy to acknowledge that in addition to the food voucher, students were also able to give Mrs. Reckley some canned goods.

Grade six student, Alexa Lowe, along with Scarlet Taylor, grade five, and MacKenzie Dam of Grade four, presented Mrs. Reckley with the donations.
