Agape students feel the spirit

Can you feel it?! The first ever Agape Spirit Day in the Primary School was a rousing success bringing together teachers and students in a fun-filled day of school pride and a godly spirit of excellence.
Kicking off on Thursday, September 24 with a chant competition between Grades 1-6 in chapel, students came up with some catchy tunes, stomps, and beats centered on the theme: “Together, we can achieve Excellence!
A panel of judges, consisting of high school teacher, Mr. Michael Johnson, and former Agape teachers, Mrs. Rebekah Bethel and Mrs. Connie Albury, had the difficult task of choosing a winner among the distinguished classes.
On Friday, September 25, the primary school came together to hear their fellow students showcase their original, one-of-a-kind chants, to the delight of parents who turned out in full support.
Mr. Troy Albury, a member of the Board of Directors, announced the winners. Grade 2 secured third place, Grade 3 walked away with second place and Grade 4 took home the title of winners of the Spirit chant competition. However, all the classes were commended for the great display of talent exhibited.
Teachers were by no means left out of the festivities, having students guess who’s the baby, in the “Name that Baby” contest, where students picked out their teachers from their baby photos. Meanwhile, students also got to cheer on for their teachers as they tried to see who could eat the donut and chocolate pudding the fastest. (Hail to K4- Teacher Mrs. Claudia Williams with winning the donut competition hands down, literally, and K-5 Teacher, Mrs. Margaret Burrows, emerging the victor for wolfing down the pudding the fastest)!
Everyone agreed that Spirit Day was an awesome way of showing the wonderful talents that God has given us and celebrating what a wonderful school Agape is! A special thanks goes out to the organizers and moderators of this event, Administrative Assistant for Grades 1-3, Mrs. Stacey Bullard and Sixth Grade Teacher and Administrative Assistant for Grades 4-6, Mrs. Farrah Cartwright, who did such an excellent job.
