Jonah And The Whale

If you were not at Grace Gym Thursday, March 11th, for ‘Jonah and the Whale’ performed by Agape Christian School’s grades four, five and six then you missed a treat worth seeing twice.  The drama/musical written and directed by our own Mrs. Courtnee’ Romer gave the audience, young and old alike, a indescribable experience of a Bible story that some have heard but never how they did during the program.

‘Jonah’, Benjamin Higgs, was a character all his own and the viewers felt like they were on the journey to Ninevah with him.  The music, words, choreography, props, whale, and team work brought the whole show together and left the viewers elated and encouraged.  The overall message that you can’t run from God and it is always best to seek His will for your life and do His will.  Jonah found out the hard way and inside the belly of the whale he taught us that God is in Control always.

The guests enjoyed it so much we hosted an encore performance on Monday the 22nd. Despite the rain Wesley College and Man-O-War Primary brought their students who enjoyed the event. Singing seaweed, wild waves, wise sailors, with chorus girls gave a new dimension to the Caitlin Grace Albury Gymnasium.  No matter the age everyone was intrigued, interested, enthralled, ecstatic, and wanting more.

We praise God for all His blessings and for everyone who contributed to the completion of this fantastic production especially Mrs. Courtnee, Mrs. Stacey Adderley and her art students primary and high school/the costumes, Mrs. Renee Bethel and the High school wood work students, Mrs. Farrah Cartwright, Miss Sarah Stapley, Mr. Paul Zehler,  Mr. Troy, Mr. Jonathan (for everything you did to assist), the parents who helped and especially our extra-ordinary grades four, five and six students who travel from all over, work hard, and perform well.

We love you all.
